Trends to consider with your next office redesign

Northamptonshire offices are often looking at how they can revolutionise the workplace to entice new talent as well as retain existing staff. The future of the workplace is evolving but the physical office is still here to stay and we love to help bring them to life at iOTA. Even if your business currently uses a hybrid working environment, the office should bring designs that work in accordance with your ethos. Here’s some trends we recommend considering when it comes to creating your perfect office space.

Fluid design.

With hybrid working now firmly established, the traditional fixed office workstation is fading into the past. Businesses are moving away from permanently allocated workspaces and personalised areas. Fluidity and flexibility are becoming the norm, allowing for increased potential for productive and collaborative interactions between employees.

Innovative technology.

We’re sure you’re telling your customers how innovative you are and that you’re a forward thinning business but it’s important to put that into practice into your business environment too. Look at how your business is connected, are you utilising modern systems that allow for easy transfer of calls, are you able to communicate with colleagues in and out of the office in a sensible way. All of this can be incorporated into a beautiful design that doesn’t feel like a million cables too.

Acknowledging your employees needs.

With 20% of the population considered neurodivergent, look at how you can cater to needs without making a direct change to working practice. Look at quiet spaces, dedicated concentrations and reflection areas that everyone can utilise. Meeting these requirements needn't be something you have to go 'above and beyond' for but being mindful of the considerations of others will allow your team to get the most out of their working day.

Sustainability commitments.

The effort towards a sustainable workplace extends into commitments for renewable energy, sustainable operations, green building materials, and efficient resource use. Social and environmental responsibility is a core guiding principle for progressive office design.

If you’re looking to start building a workplace that caters for the needs of people today. Get in touch with us at iOTA and our Northamptonshire office will be happy to help.
